University of Doha for Science and Technology – Information Technology Directorate - Profile:
University of Doha for Science and Technology – Information Technology Directorate is inviting nominations and applications for the position of Supervisor Digital Solutions. Reporting to the Manager, Business Applications, Supervisor Digital Solutions must possess the skills and expertise necessary to support the Information Technology Directorate of the University and fully implementing UDST’s mission and vision.
Duties & Responsibilities:
This position requires a skillful individual with related experience in university who can manage the development of Digital Solutions and ensure best practices and industry standards are being met, in alignment with UDST policies and protocols.
The incumbent is responsible for liaising with internal and external stakeholders, in order to identify UDST requirements and provide business-optimization solutions in a timely and efficient manner.
The successful candidate will set UDST priorities and oversee the identification of emerging opportunities that digital solutions can address to enhance UDST initiatives, operations, and collaboration among business units and faculty.
The successful candidate will lead the development of Digital Solutions and ensure quality assurance, and that policies and procedures are in alignment with UDST design and development protocols. S/He will facilitate process workflow modeling to collaborate on process improvements, automation capabilities and clearly defined end-to-end use cases.
The incumbent will establish technology standards and strategies, and ensure industry standard web development tools and languages are being implemented in a timely and efficient manner. S/He will also ensure up-to-date knowledge with industry standard web development technologies and languages, along with compliance with industry best practice and UDST policies.
The successful candidate will support UDST initiatives to exploit Office 365 and other digital solutions to work together collaboratively, in order to increase the efficiency of document production and storage, and promote information in all UDST Business units. S/He will also track all programming changes, and oversee digital solutions development by providing regular reports to the Business Applications Department Head.
The incumbent will organize digital solution service strategies, and develop/promote best practices for usage, operations and development to aid developers and administrators in architecting digital solution design and expansion. S/He will also lead digital solutions development, and ensure applications standards are being enforced, in compliance with UDST policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the relevant stakeholders across UDST to identify project requirements, develop complex business models and provide software solutions also assisting with integration to optimize business processes and ensure coding & data protection practices are in effect along with compliance and data security across all systems and databases.
The successful candidate will monitor the digital solutions development pool and ensure a proper utilization and use of time is being implemented and adhered to. S/HE will oversee all documentation to ensure accurate record keeping and monitoring.
The incumbent will conduct business process analysis utilizing an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment, in support of strategic initiatives and perform miscellaneous job duties as assigned.
Responsibilities also include to provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates based on UDST’s Employee Performance Management framework.
Qualifications
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field required
Master’s degree / Professional certification preferred
Experience:
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in IT or related field
Language:
Fluency in written and spoken English language required
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language preferred
Other Required Skills:
Ambitious and self-motivated team player with strong IT technical skills and the ability to apply technical knowledge and provide sound comprehensive advice along with a desire to achieve organizational success and to lead by example is required. A proactive can-do attitude to work and good time management is essential. Good attention to detail and the ability to anticipate change is expected. Knowledge of IT Security and knowledge of Principles of Information Technology is required. A Commitment to ongoing IT training and continuous professional development is desirable. Team work, Analytic thinking, problem solving and service excellence should be the strong attributes.
